Winter Essentials

Unless you've been living under a rock (or live in a different country), you are well aware that the Northeast coast was hit with a big blizzard. Well NYC ended up being largely spared after being told it was going to be a historic storm that was going to bury us for days. Oops. But I got a snow day out of it which made everything worth it.

While NYC might have gotten off easy this time, we might not be so lucky next time. I rely on my dependable Hunter boots (worn with these cozy socks to keep my feet warm) any time it snows. I have other friends that swear by their SOREL boots. Either way here is a little roundup to make sure that during the next storm, you will be nice and warm while still looking cute.

Wednesday Wants

I have resisted this trend for awhile now but I am finally giving in to wearing booties. I refused to buy booties since I was convinced that they would cut off my legs and thus look unflattering on me. I am only now realizing why they are so popular. Not only are the comfortable to wear for long periods of time, but they give you a little height when you don't feel like wearing heels aka something I never feel like doing. I also like how they can either dress up or down an outfit depending on how you style them. Here are just a few booties I rounded up. I'm personally partial to the pairs from Target.

The trend of wearing a bulky sweater with a skirt was all over New York Fashion week and seems to appearing again during London Fashion week. I am absolutely in love with this style since it is super flattering. I found this picture of a girl during fashion week and I really admire her style. I replicated my own version of her outfit.

While I might not have any interest in seeing her new movie, I have been seriously loving everything Lily Collins has been wearing on the press circuits. I would love to be able to raid her closets since she puts together the cutest outfits. I found this picture of Lily on Pinterest and it's the perfect running errands outfit for when it gets colder out. I have recreated my own version of her outfit.

Style Files: Wedding

Sorry for dropping off the face of the planet last week, but my life ended up getting unexpectedly crazy. I have a lot of catching up to do on everyone's blog. I hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was spent relaxing on my roof and getting caught up on necessary tasks like grocery shopping and laundry. 

Here is an outfit very similar to the one I wore at friend's wedding. I seriously need this Zara dress in my life. How cute are those bows on the back? And I am absolutely in love with this cork clutch from J.Crew. You can easily dress it up or down. Also, always wear wedges when you go to a wedding since your feet won't be hurting from all the dancing.

Style Files: Brunch

In NYC, brunch is practically a religion. People attend brunch every week and take it very seriously. People don't mess around with brunch in New York City.
